June 22, 2011 - The Planes will live to see another day, new bass player, upcoming shows, Inland Empire Weekly interview

Introducing our new bass player to the band: Mr. Kevin Keller. Needless to say we are happy to get moving again after a bump in the road. Kevin will be taking over on the low end for now, and we couldn't be happier. He is an easy going guy with a great attitude, as well as an impressive resume. Welcome aboard Kevin!

We are playing September 10th with Exene Cervenka!. We are very honored to have been asked to play this gig. "X" was a huge influence on at least a couple of us in the band, and we are pumped up for this one.

September 10th, 2011
The Prospector

We were recently featured in the Inland Empire Weekly. The funny things about phone interviews..."I didn't say that!" None the less, its good press and we were happy to take part. You can read it here

See You Soon!

Feb 21, 2011 - Arizona wrap up, Casbah San Diego, and Pappy and Harriets

We had a great time playing shows in San Diego and Arizona. The Casbah is one of our favorite venues and we are always happy to play there. Also got to check out Will Cope and band. Good country music from Austin. it was nice meeting those fellas and hearing some good pedal steel guitar. I will have to miss h say...we didaving our friend Steve in San Diego.

Would like to say "thanks" to Tato from the Lost Leaf in Phoenix and Lisa from Tempe for putting us up. It was great to see Bean Dip, Tato's puppy- all grown up and getting into trouble like a puppy should. Damn that thing is cute. Both shows-at Hollywood Alley and The Lost Leaf- were a whole lot of fun. Can't wait to get back there.

We also had a chance to pay our repects to Waylon Jennings at the Mesa Cemetery. There lays a bad ass, and one of our biggest influences. A Honky Tonk Hero says it best. We cleaned off the headstone and the area around the grave, said a few kind words, and we were politely on our way. it was actually a pretty amazing experience. If Waylons music has touched you the way its touched me, you would understand.

Pappy and Harriets - what a great time we had once again. We love that place. The sound, the vibe, the history. Special thanks to the crew from Long Beach that came up. Some of our favorite people mustered up the energy to make the long drive out to the desert. Seems like everyone had a good time, as the after party went on to the early hours of the AM. Thanks guys for coming up, we had a great time. I wonder if that carriage had "Lowjack". We REALLY REALLY REALLY want to do a show at Pappys with the that sounds like a party.

This will be our first show a t the Puka Bar and we really need to pack that place so we can play there again. First of all - I would like to say a big "thank you" to Eric Pieper for making our latest poster (the one with the hands). They are hand numbered and silk screened and they look great. Thank you Eric. We will have a few for sale to help cover cost at the Prospector show on the 22nd. Well if you are wondering, we have been workin on the new record. I am happy to say that it is finally moving along. We will be playing a couple shows in the next few weeks, but will be heading back to record after these shows. We plan on having the record ready sometime in June. AND THEN---- we will be hitting the pavement. Yes - i cant wait for this record to be done and we can do some travelin and rockin out. Till then....Listen to Honky Tonk Heroes.

Welcome to 2007-
That much closer to Bush's departure. A day that we all look forward to.
and I thought Nixon was the worse one. I guess I was wrong.

We play Thursday Feb1st at Alexs Bar in the LBC. We play at 930pm.$5
we are playing with Demander who are travelin' all the way from NY so come out and give them a little support. Also on the bill are Summer Darling, and playing an acoustic set of music will be Mike Morris from the Thingz fame. He does some real nice ol' songs like Tom Dooley and songs about coal mines. Not bad to start a night of good drinkin. We are playin' right after him so get there early ....address= 2913 E Anaheim St, Long Beach, CA 90804

Earlier this month down in San Diego, we had the fine honor of being apart of what would be our first ever "sold out" show-thanks to Transfer and a strong local line-up. We would just like to say thank you, cause we appreciate it. We met some fine foks down there, and we were happy to be apart of such a great night. Thanks guys - hope to do it again real soon. It was real nice seeing my cousin G too.

Also-a big thanks to Steve Hansen (originally from Iowa now he plays in a band called Vitro).. ....for gathering up all our belongings and mailing them back to us after our rapid early morning, I mean....afternoon, departure. I was wondering what in tar-nations happened to that ol' sock.

So also one more the next weeks we will be attempting to record the sound of this here band. We got a couple handfuls of new songs and plus some tracks we already have recorded so maybe it will be a 4 record box set called " I Wish I Had a Guitar Like Waylon Jennings" --but Im sure the name will change by the release. Anyway- we are excited to get some of these tracks down. Some real good songs in this round of strummin fellas. Well, at least I like them.

P.s. I just learned how to make links so there is an abnormal amount of links here. See Ya soon!

We are playing Wednesday, December 20th, at Safari Sams in Hollywood. We ain't really used to all the glitz and glamour that ol' Tenseltown has to offer-but were playing for a good cause, so what the heck. So come on down show your support for these folks. We'd love to see you there.
